'Sight Action is such a vital support' says Grantown on Spey woman:

A Grantown on Spey woman is one of many people supported by Sight Action. She has suffered from sight problems since her early twenties. Her eyesight gradually worsened but she says she has adapted to it.

She said:

“The last six or seven years have been the worst. Until I got a guide dog I crossed my fingers when I crossed the road.”

Happily, she has stayed safe and with the help of Sight Action she is making the most of life. She has received home visits and travels to the charity’s Inverness Resource Centre where she has learned how to use computer speech software.

She is now able to go abroad on holiday and is currently learning Spanish, which she started at night school. She also enjoys listening to audio books.

She added:

“I do exercise and walk a lot. I have also done the Wilderness Challenge sponsored walk. Sight Action is such a vital support for me and I couldn’t do without them. If I need anything I just give them a call or go to visit them.”
