Sight Action 'are always there to help' says retired Sutherland man:
A retired Sutherland man is one of many people supported by Sight Action. He had to give up driving due to his deteriorating eyesight.
He said:
“It affects my central vision, which is now a bit wobbly, and it makes recognition of faces quite difficult.
“We approached Sight Action after my wife heard a talk from their Rehabilitation Officer, Gillian Mitchell. She then came out to see me and helped me try out magnifying glasses.”
He also required an operation. He later purchased bright lights from Sight Action which, combined with the improvement in his vision following the operation, keeps him reading.
“I was worried I would no longer be able to read but Sight Action are very positive and I know they are always there to help me,” he added.
“I would recommend people get in touch with Sight Action to see how they can help them.”
