Sight Action is making a 'huge difference' for Lewis woman:
A Lewis woman is one of many people supported by Sight Action. Her condition makes her very vulnerable to falls and bumps inside and outside the home but, happily, Sight Action has made a ‘huge difference’ to her life.
She said:
“I decided to contact Sight Action and they visited me a few times and trained me how to use a white cane. Little things like people knowing to get out of my way or stopping when they see me with the cane help me now.
“Sight Action have really saved my life because prior to their training I was nearly knocked down. They have trained me to use my ears to listen for traffic when I want to cross the road. Vehicles even stop when they see me with my white cane.
“They have also trained me to keep looking straight ahead as I get blurred vision when I look down or to the side. I use a short white cane at home and a longer one when I’m outside. I really am indebted to them.”
